Case Study: Buchinger Fasting
From experience to result: In this project, I'm translating a 6-day Buchinger fasting week (Fleether Mühle) into understandable, legally compliant content: a user-generated content (UGC) video (YouTube), a Reel (Instagram), and an SEO article with subtitles/transcript. The result: honest, practical explanatory content that manages expectations without making promises of cures.
Initial situation & goal
Background: Fasting is a trend, but there are many promises of healing, little context regarding the process, preparation/structure and suitability for everyday life (HWG framework).
Objective: To explain the topic neutrally and practically and to show how a content package consisting of UGC video + reel + SEO article (script · filming · editing · subtitles · distribution) works for health brands.
Science check (clear & HWG-compliant)
Question: How can Buchinger fasting be explained informatively, without making promises of a cure?
Guiding principles in language: "can provide support", "many experience it", "individual suitability should be medically assessed".
What is explained: procedure (medical clarification, preparation/setup), typical sensations, everyday routines (exercise, drinking, rest), sensible limits (contraindications not in detail, but reference to specialist personnel).
Disclaimer (visible): This is not medical advice. Information provided does not replace individual consultation with a doctor or alternative practitioner.
Video creation: Approach & process
Research & Claim Check → Script & Shot List → UGC Shoot (authentic, Smartphone/Available Light) → Editing (Hook, Pattern Interrupts, B-Roll) → Subtitles/Transcript (Accessibility) → Distribution (YouTube, IG, Blog, Newsletter) → Performance Review.
Results & Lessons Learned
Authenticity instead of instructions: Participants' perspective as an honest video diary with photos & clips. No how-to tips; personal impressions.
Hook & Story: Introduction “What I learned during the fasting week” → Expectation management instead of promises.
Structure & Retention: Chapters/Timestamps for the journey only: Arrival · Days 1–6 · Impressions/Highlights. Calm B-roll, subtle text overlays.
Accessibility = Reach: Subtitles, transcript and chapter markers increase watchability & citability without sound.
Deep dive in the blog: Preparation & setup, contraindications, autophagy in the longevity context and sources are deliberately included in the blog article; in the video, only a brief reference: "More background information in the blog".
HWG-compliant: Focus on experience, no promises of healing; note the need for individual medical assessment.
Repurposing: From the longform 3-5 shorts/reels (e.g. “Day 1 – Expectations”, “Day 3 – Energy”, “Day 6 – Review”) + quote graphics & blog teaser.
Quick Facts about the Content Package
Video: ~3–6 min · 16:9 · Voice + text overlays · royalty-free music
Shortform: 1 Reel/Short, 20–45 s, subtitles
Assets: Thumbnails, chapter titles, transcript as .txt/.docx files
Review process: Claim check/compliance before publication
